Benjamin Schneider
37-582k
As a postdoctoral researcher at MIT, Benjamin works at the intersection of high-energy astrophysics and instrumentation. His current projects involve characterizing the next generation of X-ray CCDs for future X-ray missions, testing CMOS sensors for their X-ray capability, and studying transient objects such as gamma-ray bursts (GRBs). Additionally, Benjamin has a strong interest in conducting follow-up observations of transient sources using ground facilities, such as the Very Large Telescope. Before joining MIT, he received his PhD in Astronomy and Astrophysics from the University of Paris-Saclay (France). As part of his thesis, Benjamin worked on the morphology of GRB host galaxies using Hubble Space Telescope images and on the characterization of the Microchannel X-ray Telescope (MXT) on board the SVOM mission.
