Blake Mitchell
Senior Software Engineer
NE83-535
After studying mathematics and leaving the academic path with a master’s degree, Blake entered into industry as a software engineer and has primarily concentrated on the boundary of hardware and software and functional programming. He has worked at National Instruments (NI), MIT Lincoln Laboratory, Commonwealth Fusion Systems, SiFive, and others before returning to MIT in 2024, this time at the MIT Kavli Institute. Blake’s role is to support software development of all kinds, from low-level hardware interaction to systems to data science and scientific programming. His interest in mathematics remains strong, and it is his hope that he someday actually learns general relativity. He’s sure he is in the right place to do that!
