Jingyi Wang

Jingyi is a fourth-year PhD student who was born and raised in Hangzhou, China. Jingyi went to Shanghai for college, and graduated from Fudan University with a degree in Physics in 2018. During her undergraduate study, she has also been at UC Berkeley as an exchange student for one semester, and spent a summer at Caltech doing a SURF project in the NuSTAR group. Jingyi’s research has been focused on applying the X-ray reverberation mapping and reflection spectroscopy to X-ray data from telescopes such as NICER, NuSTAR, RXTE, and Swift, to study the accretion and environment of black hole binary systems. She works with Professor Erin Kara and is a member of The Kara Black Hole Group.
