Alberto Traina got his Ph.D. in Astrophysics in 2024 at the University of Bologna (where he also got his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees) supervised by Dr. Carlotta Gruppioni and Dr. Ivan Delvecchio. From 2024 to 2026, he worked as a postdoc with Dr. Fabio Vito at the INAF-OAS of Bologna.

Alberto’s works focuses on the formation and evolution of galaxies across cosmic times, and their co-evolution with the hosted supermassive black holes. His research aims at understanding such evolution in dust rich star-forming galaxies, from both fields and overdense environments, using a multiwavelength approach.

At MKI, Alberto works with Prof. Anna-Christina Eilers on the characterization of the AGN population in high redshift protoclusters.
