NASA Astronaut Chris Williams Soyuz MS-28 Launch

NASA astronaut Chris Williams (PhD '12) who completed his doctoral research at MIT in astrophysics, is launching to the International Space Station from the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan on November 27th.
A Roscosmos Soyuz MS-28 spacecraft will carry Williams on his first flight, as well as Sergey Kud-Sverchkov and Sergey Mikaev of Roscosmos. Liftoff is scheduled for 4:27 a.m. EST (0927 UTC), and the spacecraft and crew are scheduled to dock at the station at about 7:38 a.m. EST (1238 UTC) on the same day. The crew will spend approximately eight months aboard the orbital laboratory as part of Expedition 73/74. During his time in orbit, Williams will conduct scientific investigations and technology demonstrations to help prepare the crew for future space missions and provide benefits to people on Earth.
