Adam Lanman

Adam received his PhD in physics from Brown University in 2019, developing instrument simulation tools for 21 cm cosmology experiments (HERA, MWA). These tools have become a basis for validating data analysis techniques. In 2020, Adam joined the CHIME/FRB collaboration as a postdoc at McGill University. There, he contributed to the study of highly active fast radio bursts (FRBs), and to the deployment of outrigger telescopes to enable VLBI-precision in localizing FRBs. At MIT, he works with Prof. Kiyoshi Masui’s group in localizing FRBs, performing follow-up observations, and using FRBs as probes of galaxies and large scale structure.
