Alex Gagliano

I use multi-wavelength follow-up to link the early behavior of supernovae to the terminal behavior of their stellar progenitors. Through the Rubin Observatory’s Dark Energy & Informatics and Statistics Science Collaborations, I am designing techniques for physical inference that are robust to noisy, sparse, irregularly-sampled data. I completed my Ph.D. in Astronomy at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Previously, I worked as a pre-doctoral fellow at the Flatiron Institute’s Center for Computational Astrophysics (2022), and as a post-baccalaureate fellow at Los Alamos National Laboratory (2018).
