Alexander Yelland
McNair Building 37-624b
Alexander is a graduate student working with Prof. Anna Frebel at MIT, studying the properties and patterns of ancient, metal-poor stars as tracers of galactic evolution. Through his research in stellar archaeology, he aims to deepen our understanding of the fundamental processes driving chemical and galactic evolution.
Before MIT, Alexander earned a B.S. in physics, an A.S. in engineering physics, and a minor in leadership studies from Washburn University in Topeka, Kansas, in 2021. Outside of research, he enjoys participating in MIT Physics community activities, crafting, spending time outdoors, and playing games with friends.
