Erika Reinfeld (she/her/hers) has more than two decades of experience leading STEM education and outreach activities. She joined the MIT community in 2010 as the Education Coordinator at the MIT Museum, eventually moving to the Koch Institute for Integrative Cancer Research to oversee their public outreach programs, including the ever-popular Image Awards competition. Most recently, she has been teaching science communication and managing the technical communication lab in the Department of Nuclear Science and Engineering. Prior to her time at MIT, Erika worked as an education specialist at the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics and a program coordinator for the NASA-Smithsonian Education Forum on the Structure and Evolution of the Universe. She holds degrees in astronomy, theatre, and museum education, and currently serves as a member of the school committee in Medford, MA, where she lives with her wife, children, and gerbils.
