Mitchell is a PhD student with research interests in precision measurement and developing instrumentation for current and next generation gravitational wave detectors. He previously studied at the University of Adelaide for his BSc in physics and his MPhil. During his masters, Mitchell worked with the Adelaide LIGO group on a project applying wavefront sensing to birefringence measurements.
