Roland Vanderspek
Principal Research Scientist
Roland works in the TESS payload and science operations centers at MIT. In the payload operations center, we coordinate the operation of the instrument and satellite on orbit — where TESS is pointing, which targets are being looked at and handling the data after they’re downlinked. In the science operations center, we review the processed data to look for planets. Before the TESS launch in April 2018, I was heavily involved in the testing, tuning and calibration of the cameras.
