eROSITA was launched from Baikonur, Kazakhstan aboard the SRG spacecraft in July 2019. Following an extended commissioning phase, eROSITA entered full science operations in October of the same year, beginning with the calibration and performance verification (CalPV) phase. A variety of astrophysical targets were observed during this phase, demonstrating the high quality of the data. The first of eight eROSITA all-sky surveys (eRASS1) was completed in June 2020, providing a map of the full X-ray sky of unprecedented depth and image resolution. In this talk, early eROSITA science results based on the CalPV and eRASS1 data will be presented.
